Constipation Issues

I'm doing fine in every area but one... I'm constipated to the point I can go a week without moving my bowels... I know it's the Iron supplements making me constipated. So, what is a person suppose to do? I have to have my iron to stay healthy and I have to be able to move my bowels to also stay healthy. I take 3 OTC colace (maximum OTC dosage) every day in hopes of being able to "go". I wonder if i can possibly take more than 3. I've tried Miralax too. I constantly sip on my Water all throughout the day. I drink about 50-60 ounces a day.... some days more. I'm absolutely frustrated and i have contacted my surgeon's office and to be honest as good as they were before the surgery now it feels like they don't want to be bothered so i'm not sure if i need to go see my pcp or try something else before i do. Any and all suggestions welcome.

I didn't poo for 21 days. During the time I was on colace, dulcolax, and 2 enemas a day. When i finally pooped I felt amazing. Im still on lactolace and 2 enemas a week. Just to maintain some type of relief.

Milk of magnesium cherry flavor works well.

Omg! 21 days without pooing! You must have been worried. I'll bet you dropped a good number if pounds once you finally did. Did you have to go to your doctor for this?

Yes I had weekly appointments with my PA to resolve the issue. I finally had some relief it was massive. :)

My Dr suggests Dulcolax and Miralax. I drink a very small amount of the Miralax in my coffee each morning - then on Friday at bedtime I take a dulcolax. It seems to be working pretty well. I am someone who has always had an issue with this though so a week is not a major concern for me! lol

Thats what i do to, Miralax every night and stool softeners everyday so far so good. if i still have a problem i will hold my nose and drink prune juice lol

I've been stuck, both on weight and #2. Weight for three weeks and #2 for a week. I drank Smooth Move tea last night and this morning, after #2 decided to evacuate, I lost 4 lbs. Whew! What a relief, in both ways! (Although it was most inconvenient and interrupted my treadmill time with my friend. :/ ) My stomach/intestines were grumbly for a few hours and I didn't feel so great but hey, it worked!

As a post gastric bypass patient I had problems with constipation for the first time in my life. My doctor recommended The Lady Soma Fiber Cleanse & after 3 days of taking the capsules there was no strain, no stress. Every morning (without fail) I would have a nice bowel movement. It's been 3 months since that experience, & I've gotten my mother using Lady Soma too,

Where do you buy that and do your intestines grumble line crazy and do you get cramping?

The directions talk about a 15 day cleanse. How many do you take as your daily maintenance dose?
