  1. I ate a few small chunks of mango for my Thanksgiving appetizer last night. I felt so bad I ended up sleeping the entire meal away. Its a day later and I am still not over the dumping episode. Does anyone have any tips for recovery. What foods trigger dumping.
  2. Yes I had weekly appointments with my PA to resolve the issue. I finally had some relief it was massive.
  3. I didn't poo for 21 days. During the time I was on colace, dulcolax, and 2 enemas a day. When i finally pooped I felt amazing. Im still on lactolace and 2 enemas a week. Just to maintain some type of relief.
  4. Hi all I am 9 weeks post open and just completed an obstacle course 5k. I want to train for a Sparta Race with someone who understands the wls journey. Is there anyone in the Worcester Ma area that would be interested in working out regularly. Or if you have a work out group I would love to join

  6. I am 60 days out and I just finished a Diva Dash yesterday. It was extremely difficult but excellent training for the Sparta Race this November.
  7. I just spoke to my dr yesterday. He said this is common especially in women. He also said the increased sense of smell is a marker for long term success. Its a nice consolation for my husband who can't wear his cologne anymore.
  8. Thanks I just checked out this blog. It will be helpful since I start work next week.
  9. I had my surgery at Emerson in Concord on 7/7. TYou can ask your ins before you invest the money, they confirmed my insurance eligibility before I paid the 250.00 fee. In addition I had several long conversations with my insurance company before I signed up and I had the program coordinator confirm my financial contribution. All of this prior to my program fee.
  10. I second Junonia they design for active plus size women. Reinforcing the spots that need it and the shorts don't ride up your leg.
  11. @@leapyear i work closer to the Emerson hospital in Concord which made it was easier to manage appointments. Also I had tried to get surgery at Umass from 2007-2012 and it never worked out, the number of appointments and cost made it extremely difficult. At the time my insurance would have made it impossible to afford.
  12. Im still in recovery. No issues with the surgery I am having difficulties drinking so I am dehydrated and extremely constipated. I am working with my doctor to resolve my issues other than that it went well. So far I have lost over 25 pounds
  13. Hi im in Wocester Ma and I had my RYN at Emerson with Dr Lautz on 7/7. Good luck everyone
  14. I am getting ready to return to work, what can I use as a caffeine substitute to help get me through the day.
  15. Hey guys I am currently suffering from extreme constipation. I haven't pooped since June. My dr has me doing a saline enema in the am and mineral oil enema in the evening. I had a little movement so far. But its better than being completely blocked.
  16. Congrats to all on your sauce. Any advice on replacing clothes. I work in an office and need decent fitting clothing
  17. I am so excited that I can fit my size 24 clothes that I began the process of purging my old size 26/28s. How often should this be done and what to do with the old clothes. I feel happy about the victory however I do not think I can do this every weekend. What is a good rule to follow.
  18. My nutritionist moved me back to Clear liquids Friday due to my intolerance to all dairy and 5 kinds of Protein shakes. I was nauseous all weekend, I must have taken in less than 50 calories a day. I dreamed of food like it was a famous super star or an ex who like Liam Neilson had 'a particular set of skills'. During my 2 week check up today I found that I am apart of the 10% of women who develop a lactose intolerance and an increase sensitivity to smells. Everything I sniff has been turning my stomach including my husbands Axe spray (eeeew). The great news is that i am no on soft solids. Yeaaa no more broth. I have enjoyed some sweet and sour Soup for lunch which was not good due to my changed taste buds and the restaurant smelling awful didn't help. For dinner I had the most succulent turkey meatballs. I am taking it slow so I only ate 2 of them. I have the rest of the week to enjoy my creation and meatballs with sauce only get better with time. Yummms.
  19. I need a broader scope of foods that are on the Level II/2 diet. I have seen cream of wheat, baby food, eggs and a few others that are not on the take home list from my nutritionist. I need some food alternatives because I cannot drink shakes anymore and I am tiring of Soup.
  20. @@Angel❤️ I tried the unjury chocolate splendor so far I am not impressed. My stomach and taste buds are so fickle once I detect a hint of that typical Protein aftertaste I can no longer tolerate the drink. I used the unflavored pouch in my applesauce and it was ok, no aftertaste. I can mix that in other foods to get my protein requirements. I am happy they have a no hassle return policy.
  21. @@Angel Checking in, I spoke with my Dr yesterday and she gave me a scrip for some nausea meds.. I had been having some difficulty with my liquid and Protein intake. My
  22. I am on my way to the park today with my husband. I think i will ask to drive. I miss it a little and its nice to go outside.
  23. Its nice to see that I am not alone. I have been questioning my decision due to the extreme discomfort. And to tell you the truth I MISS food. My lower right side is swollen and the top of my belly is distended and i am extremely nauseated. I have an appointment with my Dr soon. I know it will get better and I knew this was not going to be a walk in the park. Im glad I have the support of this group.
  24. @@Angel I had my surgery on Monday 7/7 so we are in similar stages. I am having difficulties drinking all of my fluids so far I drink half a Protein shake and one bottle of Water. It hurts to drink more. Im not comfortable sleeping in a bed I sleep in an elevated position on my couch. I am still taking pain meds I have liquid Tylenol so no crushing whiskey is good. Im taking it one day at time hopefully it will get better soon.
