  2. Hello all! I am almost a year post op & have reached my weight goal having lost over 70 lbs. After meals, I get extremely sleepy & lethargic, sometimes to the point of needing to lie down for a while. Anyone else have this & if so, what's causing it & what to do about it. Thanks for your replies!

  4. My BMI was 35 & I had by pass. Have lost 60 # in 6 months & feel great. Off several medications & better blood sugar control. Off insulin now! Recommend by pass.
  5. I am 67 & had an RNY about 3 months ago. I'm doing great! Have lost 43 # & off several meds. So far so good!
  6. I was 66 when I had surgery 3 months ago. I am 67 now. I have done great & feel great! Reduced/eliminated 5 meds & hope to be off more! I've lost 37 of the 60 # I need to lose. I am walking between 3 -4 miles per day. I am a very bad diabetic & have improved tremendously!!! Don't let age keep you from this if you need it!!!
  7. I am 3 weeks post op & can start some soft foods now, but I don't feel full at all. I wish I did!! Did anyone else experience this? Will I feel full when I start on soft foods? Thanks & good luck to everybody!
  8. I am 3 weeks post op & taking regular medications with no problems. Cutting large pills in half & spacing them out over about 10-20 minutes. I've done ok with it.
  9. I take Colace & use Benefiber clear. Both have helped alot

  11. I am a type 2 insulin dependent diabetic & have been taking Victoza for several years. It helped me reduce the amount of insulin I needed by about half & helped me lose a little weight. I am 1 week post op for RNY surgery & have stopped Victoza completely. Victoza effects the speed of food moving thru the digestive system, actually slows it down. My dtr recommended that I stop it post surgery. Hope I don't have to take it again since I am gradually reducing insulin I am taking.
  12. My dtr said to take Colace stool softener up to 2 per day & you can use benefiber that disolves clear. Said not to use miralax since it draws water out of the bowel. Hope this helps.
  13. My dtr said no to chewing gum forever. Chewing gum & carbonated beverages are both forever no-nos.

  17. Thanks. I was given heparin in the hospital & prescribed Lovenox after. Had some concerns about lowering platelets since they dropped after surgery.
  18. Anybody on here taken Lovenox for blood clots or for prevention of blood clots?
