Your opinion is valued, pregnancy or surgery first?

Recommended Posts

Hello All! I have been through all the hoops, am approved and have had surgery on the books and cancelled a few times. My hubby and I want another child. Mine is 3 and I don't want the gap to get too far apart but at the same time I want to have surgery too. If I don't have surgery before the end of the year, I have to restart the entire 6 month process all over again. I am just besides myself with decision and don't know what to do. I am totally torn - have surgery first, wait at least a year and then try for baby or have baby first and then hope after I have the baby I can lose weight and or restart the entire process again. Any opinions, insight or suggestions for me?

Well, the final decision is obviously up to you, but remember that pregnancy. Is not easy on the body and being obese will make that much more difficult. The health implications an complications that can arise from being pregnant while obese can be detrimental for you as well as your baby, so that is definitely something to consider.

Also keep in mind that doctors usually recommend waiting about 18 months post surgery before attempting pregnancy.

Good luck with your decision!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
