Newbie looking for Oct sleevers!

Recommended Posts

Today has been my hardest day since surgery. I am 6 days post op.. I just don't want anything. I try to force myself to drink fluids and Protein but it just don't want it. This is the first day I feel nausea. I have been in bed for 70% of the day and I have no energy. I hope tomorrow will be better

Everyday will get better. I had s day like yours on my 7th day post op. What helped me or at least I like to think was drinking my Protein Shakes and increasing my fluids. It's tough I know because your not hungry but we must feed our body. Hope you feel better soon.

So is it safe to say we are all worried that something is going to happen and we will not be successful?

I've been overweight my whole life. I've been looking at boards and people's stats, and I just feel there's no way that I'll ever get thin. I have that 'It won't happen to me, something is going to happen" feeling. Weird !

Hate this feeling tonight !

I have this same feeling I also had this feeling before surgery, thinking it wasn't going to happen. It's weird but our mind thoughts can sometimes sabotage our progress. In time this too shall pass. Praying for a new thought process with my new healthy changes for us.

Everyone, I am definitely happy to be on the mushy diet but my doctor doesn't even want me eating potatoes or cream of wheat or any grains. He said to only eat the high Protein for my three little meals. I would love a little baked sweet potato, lol. I will have some at the holidays!

I was thinking yesterday, I could have a baked sweet potato with pumpkin pie spice for dessert on thanksgiving :)

My absolute worst day so far was day 7 (if you count surgery day as day 1). I was completely lethargic, my take home pain meds ran out and I couldn't get more, everything hurt and honestly I slept most of the day and that really helped me out for Monday. You'll rally and I hope today is a better day for you too.

Going for my follow-up apt today Hope he takes me off Clear Liquids. 12 days of Clear liquids is enough. I haven't heard back on my pathology report on the gist tumor that was removed so I am scared and nervous. hoping he had the results today. He removed the tumor so worse case scenario we will have to watch to see if it comes back or aggressive approach is to go back in and do the gastric bypass.. I am ready to have soft foods. Finally getting tired of liquid's. Last day of solid food was Oct 3. I hope all our October sleeves are doing well. Keep me in the loop for contacts as I would love to continue to be a part this group if we should move locations.  Thanks for listening and supporting

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
