Signed up for my first Olympic triathlon

Recommended Posts

I signed up for my first Olympic Triathlon; the Kemah Triathlon on April of 2015. I've been wanting to do one for a long time but never had the guts to sign up for one. I'm super excited and VERY nervous especially for the open Water swim which I've already started training for. I'm also going to talk about my training on my blog: www.julissaschultz.com.

If any of ya'll out there have completed an OLY tri please message me. I would like to know what your nutrition was like during the race and would also like to hear about your experience.

Thanks!

Just started reading your blog. Amazing! I got VSG surgery done in September 2014, and am down 69 lbs already. I'm gonna take on a tri in 2015...I'll be looking to your blog to guide me for sure. Keep it up! From "shit to fit"!!!

Amazing. I've wanted to start doing tri's, and my weight is holding me back, I can't wait until I have the sleeve.

I'm 10 months out of surgery and have started getting active again. I have run in 3, 5k races and have completed a couple of 35-40 mile rides. I have committed to a local sprint length triathlon. Currently, I am focusing on my swimming and will be working on my brick training soon. Good luck, I know how I'm also a little nervous about the whole thing. I've told myself that I am participating not competing. I'm doing it for me as my 55th birthday. Hope you do well.

Have done a sprint tri and was signed up for a March oly but had to drop down to the sprint bc I had wrist surgery and will only be out of my cast/brace for 3 weeks and they aren't even sure j should be doing that--physical therapist will give me the go ahead (or not) in early March.

Good luck to everyone on their Tri!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
