I'm getting ready to move at the end of the month. Was going to wait another 10 lbs to purchase new clothes but have found that 85% of my clothes are not only too big, they are WAY too big, especially the tops. I have gone from a 2x to a medium in 2 months! Crazy bc I was thinking the weight was coming off slowly, but I am shrinking somewhere I guess. Like most, I had closets and trunks full of clothing of all sizes. I have had to git rid of almost all of it. I broke down and went shopping bc I had to get some clothes to wear to work without looking like a hobo! It's nice to be able to buy clothes without great worry that "what if gain it all back". I feel much more confident that I won't need my plus sizes or "fat clothes" any more. They are gone!!

My first closet gutting was a strange and very emotional experience for me (and I don't do emotional lol!). I have ALWAYS kept my 'fat clothes' when I lost weight in the past. Almost like a safety blanket I guess, I always knew I could fit back into something if I gained some back. But the 1st time gutting my closet after surgery I caught myself boxing things up to keep (per the norm) and realized.....what the hell am I doing?! I will NEVER fit these clothes again....never. That was a real eye opener and it was very unsettling to let go of my safety blankets and take all of the oversized clothes to donation.

Now I just keep an ongoing box of clothing and add to it as things get too big and I do a happy dance. Not quite so devastating anymore :)

I have a laundry basket in my closet for items as I shrink out of them. I really want to fill it up! I'm slowly starting to add to it now- 1 month out today!

I have a friend coming over to "go shopping" in my closet before I donate to goodwill. I have 5 boxes of clothes to donate!! I had to buy jeans (all were too big) and a few pairs of black slacks for work cuz nothing fits. What a great problem to have but so much money down the drain!!

I totally relate to the safety blanket of all sizes! Iv done the yo yo all my life..I have 14 to 24..now I'm in my 18s an everything else higher is out!! I called a gf an asked her if she would like a new wardrobe. .! It was a lil nerve racking But then I was saying woo hoo!!

This afternoon I went shopping to my mothers closet she has always been smaller than me but I can wear some of her larger clothes now. so wonderful. it's great to have a mom is the same height as I am,but I've always been three or four sizes bigger than her and now I'm wearing her baggies I love it pretty soon I'll be wearing her regular clothes it's so nice to have gone down from an 18/20 to a 12/14. I can't wait until I'm smaller than her. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
