What is normal? Is it fat, is it being out of breath, is it eating until you bust...? I ask that question with a lot of love because when you think about it, our normal was with those things added to it and maybe we should ask, when will we feel the 'new normal,' and what does that feel like?

I can tell you this, you will begin to have more energy, you will get back to eating regular foods but not so much and maybe not the same foods as before. Hang in there, this will pass. We all went through this in the beginning, but my old normal is no longer. Hooray!

It's been 7 weeks for me and I still feel somewhat drained.

Protein - I am

Vitamins - are giving me acid issues

Somewhat active.

Yes, the lack of energy is extremely normal at this stage. When I was about a little over a week out, and I was feeling a bit of an energy burst, I decided to Water my plants. My planting bed is almost 40 feet wide. I nearly passed out! Everybody is different, but I didn't start to feel close to normal until about 4-5 weeks out. And mind you, I said "close to normal." My full energy didn't come back until I was able to tweak my diet, up the calories and consume energy giving foods...the good carbs. Malt 'O Meal (went down easier than oatmeal), sweet potato (just a couple of teaspoons in the beginning, much more now that I'm over a year out); fruits such as smashed banana, Water melon, plums (anything that was soft and easy to chew down and digest.

I know it doesn't feel like it now, but things will get back to normal. It does get better, and before you know it you are going to be a year out and loving the new you!

My advice: up your calories as soon as you can. I started working out and I knew I needed the calories to get good workouts in and get my body out of starvation mode. You can do this! Good luck!!!

I was sleeved on 07/24 and my energy level was in the dumps and I was tired all the time....why? Because my Protein intake was non-existent and the liquid multi-vitamins taste like crap!! I got the Chobani flip low fat Greek yogurt and Gummy vites today. After eating the yogurt n the vites with 30 mins I could feel the difference....I didn't feel as tired and I had energy. Even though there was only 12g of protein in the yogurt it made a difference...tomorrow I start mushy foods so I'll hopefully be getting most of my protein through my food.

Good luck....try some Greek yogurt for an energy boost....I'm not fond of Protein Shake any longer(premiere protein vanilla and various flavors of Isopure) but I'm going to try mixing the premier with fruits and see if that works out. I also ordered the sample pack of unjury(recommended by another member) I'll see how that works out. Good luck!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
