Pain just over 2 weeks out

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I see people posting they had no pain meds after they left the hospital etc.. I am just over two weeks out and still have pain on my right side that seems to go around to my back. I do know this is by the incision where my stomach was removed. Has anyone else still had pain at this point? So tired of hearing everyone leaving the hospital pain free.

Ask yourself were is your pain between 1 and 10. If its a 6 or 7 you might still need pain killers if its below that get over it.

I had pain on my right side too that has to do with them holding your liver up for a time and the incision too. It is bruised so it will take time to heal.. I am 2 weeks out and have minor pain on the right still.. I was prescribed tylenol with codeine

Sherb I stayed on Tylenol with codeine for 5 days at home then tossed it and dealt. Occasionally had pain in my back. The np at doc said that the pain radiates from my tummy to my back if I was overrating. We nailed it down to the pain occurring around times I "ate". Eating being a relative word that 2nd week. I was on purées and it happened more with sense Protein than anythingn else. I didn't have any pain with yogurt or cottage cheese. It was purée Proteins that did it.

Monitor when you get it. Write it down. If it's constant call surgeon. You could develop a hernia at incision sites as well. Could be gallbladder depending on where pain starts

Just monitor write it down with what the potential causes are - and have a discussion with doc Monday am

I guess my husband and I were the lucky ones with no pain at home one day after the sleeve. Just always remember when in doubt call your doctor, do not ask non-medically trained friends here. I have seen thousands of posts where people had to be urged to go to the ER. Good luck and feel better.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
