I talked myself out of gastric sleeve surgery last year and I am so mad at myself.

Good luck! I know exactly what you mean.. I almost backed out myself.. I let my nerves get the best of me, but I am SO glad I didn't! I was sleeved last Thursday and every day feel better and better.. I am so looking forward to tomorrow when I get to eat real food.. beans! Not sure if you are a religous, but I found a lot of prayer got me through. I have four children and my husband who is diabetic along with mentally ill and kept thinking what if and who would... they are all so helpful and thankful for the follow through. You'll do it when you're ready :)

I was sleeved in February and I am so glad I made that decision. It's wonderful.

I backed out the first time then decided to do it two years later. Once I made that decision, I never doubted it. Knew it was the right decision for me -- and it was. 9 months out and still certain it was the right decision. Love my sleeve! Wishing you all the best on your journey.

I first looked into this about 4 years ago and chickened out. Then I got laid off my job of 23 years. I found out how tough that job market is, especially when you are 100 lbs overweight and your self-confidence is in the toilet. After panicking and feeling really sorry for myself, I thought about this again and went to a seminar. That was all it took. Now I am so excited and can't wait! It's going to be awesome! We're going to feel great, have energy, renewed confidence, and we're going to knock 'em dead! So glad to hear you are doing this for yourself, too! God bless!

i also backed out last year, and am back again this year. no turning back this time for me either! i can relate totally. instead of berating myself for not going forward previously, i'm looking at the last year as additional prep time required before i had the surgery, namely mental prep time. i had a similar situation when i first started using an insulin pump over 20 yrs ago. i KNEW the minute i heard about it that it was the right tool for me, but it took me a year to get mentally adjusted to the idea of having a machine attached to myself 24/7.

congrats on being ready!!

Thank you for all your support! The seminar was amazing and I can't wait to go through the process. I had my yearly physical and all my labs are still normal, no co-morbidities. I still qualify though due to my BMI.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
