Did you keep your surgery a secret?

Recommended Posts

I have talked about it with some of my co-workers. In the beginning, the conversation was, "your not that fat enough just workout." Another time it was "you have a husband why loss weight?" However recently, a have a few friends at work who have been my cheerleaders. But, I was never looking for permission just acceptance.

I have told one close friend and my family. Thats it. Didnt want to deal with the negative feedback I was going to get from others, I'm stressed enough.

It never dawned on me to keep it a secret. I've told everyone at home and at work. I had surgery 5 weeks ago and two people at work have asked me for referrals to my surgeon. I think I presented it in a manner that projected an "I'm very confident about this so don't think of judging the choice just be happy for me". Family expressed concern because it is a major surgery, but not judgment over the choice itself. Friends were the same. All were supportive, but I don't think I really gave them an option to be anything but otherwise :)

I'm like you Stanhope. I know I've done my research and I know this is the right route for me. People tend to feed off the vibe you give sometimes.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
