No Surgery Date and Anxious

Recommended Posts

My insurance company is making me wait 6 months to 2 years before they will approve my surgery. If I have the surgery before it's approved then I will have to pay a penalty. The earliest I'm looking to get the surgery is the end of December.

I'm wondering if there is anything I can do now so that when I am post op it will be an easier transition?

Thanks

@@Confused Jill, Hi Jill why would they make you wait a year (that's not cool), my insurance company did make me go through 6 months dietary, but the 6 months literally flew by, they also had some other requirements such as losing 5% of my weight, psych evaluation, endoscopy, and a 5 yr history of trying to lose weight. I have never heard of a year, what insurance company are you with, I would go to their website and see what the requirements are for a bariatric procedure.

I have to go through all that as well but the insurance company has a private company that makes the decision for them. I have to have monthly calls with a nurse and a NUT and when they feel I'm ready they will approve me. It's ridiculous because I don't know and they wont tell me if the 6 months to 2 years starts when I made my first call which was in May or the first call they made to my which was in June. I wish they would make a decision so I can get off this mental roller coaster wondering if I'm making the correct choice.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
