please tell me the truth

I also choose to stay away from old trigger foods and that is one of mine. White breads, Pasta, rice, and white flours make me sick. Also, I've had my first dumping experiences recently at 14 months out - one from higher sugar content on baked Beans and one from a fatty hotdog. I don't care to repeat them. I'm afraid to try any bread that may make me dump.

I've read that some people make pizza on low carb wraps, whole grain flat breads, and even on wonton wrappers. There is a recipe somewhere here for a cauliflower Pizza Crust that gets a lot of attention, though I never tried it. I make pizza stuffed zucchini that is delicious. That recipe is also from someone on this site.

I make an awesome pizza with a whole wheat low carb tortilla.. Turkey pepperoni and low fat mozz with a sprinkling of tastefully simple Italian garlic bread seasoning! So yummy!!! I do out a tsp of pizza sauce as well and sometimes add onions and peppers.. I can usually eat half a tortilla. I pop it in my toaster oven before adding toppings to crisp it a bit then add toppings and pop it back in until it's all melty.. Yum!

:P Im 5 months out... I had my first pizza about 2 weeks ago. It was good, but I would have rather had something else. :P

I had 1/4 of slice of pizza at the beach right before my 3 month mark. cheese only. I was super afraid but I had no residual effects.

I have a slice of pizza now and then. HOWEVER- I have it because my "old brain", and my tastebuds remember how great it tastes. When it goes down, OMG it feels terrible! I dont dump on pizza, but its just this uncomfortable, crampy, YUCK feeling. Makes it a not-very-appealing craving anymore!!!

I feel the same way. On Saturday night I had this tiny slice of pizza and felt yucky and just didn't want to eat anymore. Instead I had more white wine lol. I know that's bad too!

I tried making cauliflower pizza this past weekend. It tasted fine, though I wish the cauliflower crust would have crisped up just a bit more. It didn't hold together, so I had to eat it with a fork.

re cauliflower base, maybe cook it abit before so it is semi cooked. cauli is mega expensive at the moment so it isnt on the menu lol

My brother has gastric bypass surgery 2 1/2 years ago he can eat anything just smaller portions. If he tries to eat alot he starts throwing up. He can even drink alcohol with no problems.

Yep, I did pre-cook the crust before putting the toppings on. The edges were crispy but the middle never crisped up. It tasted fine, I just had to eat it with a fork.

I've had pizza a couple of times since my surgery. I just make sure it's thin crust. I've also made tortilla pizzas in the past for "make your own pizza night" at my house, and everybody loves it. I haven't done that since my surgery, but just because I haven't had the time to prepare all the fixins. As thin as they are, I know I'd be okay with those as well.

      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
