What is the best fitbit?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a way to track my activity and motivate me throughout the day. Which fit bit would talk recommend? The Flex? The One? Is there another one I should look at?

I have the flex and wish I had the One. I don't like how the flex only has lights that blink, rather than telling you exactly how many steps you've taken, etc.

I have the Flex, and I like it -- but I'm online via my laptop much of the day, so it's no problemo to find out what's going on.

It does buzz at me when I pass my daily steps goal, so that's helpful. And by now I know generally the magnitude of steps along my various walking routes and gym cardio machines.

Not arguing for it ... just sayin'.

I have the Flex and like it - doesn't really matter me to to check exact steps all the time. Each "light" is 2000 steps, so I know about where I am throughout the day. It syncs with my phone so all I have to do is open the app to get the actual amount.

I would suggest fitbit brand because they automatically sync with myfitnesspal. I don't know if the other brands do that or not.

PS - glad to see a "different" topic on here! :)

I just bought the Fitbit One and I love it. It even tracks my sleep (how often you wake up) -which is useful since I have apnea and use a CPAP. You can recharge the One whereas the cheaper ones use batteries. I attach the clip to my bra so it is out of the way whereas if you put the thing in your pocket there is a better chance it will fall out! This is a great way to motivate you to become more active - it has really worked in my case!

I have had the One and now have a Flex.

I liked the One because it is more discreet than the Flex. You can hook it to your bra or pants or put it in your pocket. With the Flex, everyone knows you're wearing it if that matters. I don't care of anyone knows I wear it - I actually forget I am.

The One also calculated the elevation change like the number of stairs you climb - the Flex doesn't do that. The One has a read out on the device, the Flex doesn't.

What do I like about the Flex - it seems more accurate. I like the silent alarms - I wake up every morning to a vibration on my wrist as opposed to an alarm clock. I wake up and my husband can continue to sleep without interruption.

I like the way the Flex synchs with my phone - I just open the app and I have instant feedback.

Neither one is 100% accurate - I use mine as a baseline. I wore it a few days to get an idea of how many steps I take, then tried to increase each week.

In the end, I love the Flex and would buy another one.

Now, if there was a way that the Flex could do my exercise for me, that would be awesome!!!!!

I purchased a Flex pre op and still use it today, seven months post op. I like the fact that I monitor my activity throughout the day. The dots are a good visual reminder of where I am in relation to my daily targets. The Flex is linked to my iPhone and I can get details if I want, just by opening up the app. I also have linked the Flex with my fitness pal, so I can see activity reflected in my daily calorie intake. I do not adjust the calorie intake very often, but it is nice to see the likely impact of my activity on food intake.

I use the Flex to set alarms and reminders throughout the day.

I also like that it will track quality and quantity of sleep. You can also wear it in the shower

Just got my Flex today and I like it so far. And I always have my phone on me so if I really want to see stats I can just pull that up. But I kind of like that it doesn't because those are more numbers to stress me. Like the ones on the scale. Instead, these lights just remind me to keep moving :)

Good luck!

I have the Fitbit One and love it! It syncs with my IPhone and with MyFitness Pal. I instantly know how many calories I've burned vs how many I've eaten. The One measures steps, flights of stairs, sleep, and calories burned. I bought it from Amazon for $89 which was $10 cheeper than they have it in the stores around here (Arkansas).

I have recommended the One to friends and family.

I am 10 days out RNY and got the fitbit flex a week preop. Can you swim with it? So far I really like its features. I used to have a bodybugg, flex is way better.

I have the flex and like it a lot. Just a caution though, I lost my first one, it came undone and I never found it.

A friend also lost two of hers! The good thing is fitbit actually replaced two of hers and mine for no charge. Apparently this is quite common for the flex. Hopefully they will come out with a better Bracelet option soon!

I have the zip. It's without all bells and whistles the others have. It does exactly what I need it to do and I absolutely love it :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
