you know, you are not even banded yet, but it appears you are already trying to figure out a way to cheat the band. you posted something on a public forum, i would ass-u-me that you wanted opinions / feedback. sorry you didnt like my (honest) answer.

No, I LOVE an honest answer. I don't like snide, sarcastic, back handed insults desiguised as "honest answers". See, you never really answered me. You asked a question. I answered it, and you came back with a sarcastic response, but not an aswer.

Then again, I do realize that we don't eat our way into this band without having some emotional pain. We all express that pain in different ways. Perhaps giving me the smack down gave you a sense of superiority. If so, I'm glad I could be here to help you feel better about yourself.

If you take a moment to read through the entire thread you will see that I realized, after people pointed out WHY it's not a good idea to do this, that this wouldn't be a good choice. I have to stop viewing the band as another diet and accept that it is a tool that will help me make a lifestyle change. I'm glad I have the next month to work on getting that drilled into this thick brain of mine!

Heh... Might want to plan on a little more time than that. ;)

These habits of ours and ways of thinking didn't happen in a month and what I am learning is that it takes a lot longer than you might think to change how you think of the band. Everyone is different, of course. Maybe you'll have an easier time than me.

I even went through a period of time where I resented the band. I felt like it was in control of my life, my whole life! Yeah, I was going through a drama stage for sure. My doc had a heart to heart with me and made me realize it is merely to help me stay strong. When I'm not strong, the band is. It isn't controlling me, it's a tool I choose to have. You know, some people name their band and for a long time I thought that was kinda weird. One day after my first slime I named mine "Spawn of Satan." Again, that was during my drama stage. LOL

One issue I do want to give you a head's up on is that the first month or so after being banded you'll go through allllll kinds of emotions. When you realize that there are some areas that you no longer have a choice (such as bingeing on lots of pizza, etc.) you will have mixed feelings. One day you'll be thrilled to death that you are finally banded and the very next day you will think, "OMG! What did I do? Am I NUTS??" ;)

It's all good. It's normal, it's the way it is supposed to be. So just be prepared for lots of ups and downs the first month or so. It will all be worth it when you begin to feel like a great big chocolate bar melting in the desert sun!

wasabubble- Yeah, first posts I saw from you were you saying you were picking a doctor to remove the band. I guess I never saw a follow up, but since then it looks like you're a strong advocate! So it's good to see you got through the darker times and came back to be a promoter ;)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
