I had my lap band surger 7-7-14 and am feeling good other than getting lightheaded and dizzy. On day 5 is when it was the worst. It started while I was sleeping and rolled over and the room was seriously spinning, I had to hold on to something because it felt so strong. Then anytime I would move my head with my eyes closed. Then I noticed when I tried bending over and washing my hair and that was impossible. I now feel very little pain and am having no problems with food stages but I feel crappy with a foggy head and the dizziness and lightheaded feeling. Has anyone experienced this? Any tips on how to stop it?

Same thing happened to me. I wasn't eating enough. As soon as I started eating more I felt so much better and no more dizziness.

I called the nurse when it happened to me (5 days after surgery) She suggested a small bottle of apple juice to help blood sugar. By the time I'd had ten sips, I was already feeling better.

Good luck (always call your doctor if you don't feel better soon)

Thank you for your feedback. It makes me feel better that this is somewhat "normal" I go to dr for my follow up on Wednesday. I will try little something for blood sugar before then.

blood sugar lows. they are going to happen because we are eating so much lies food. it is tempting to drink fruit juice or other high calorie drinks but do not dp that. We mist get used to a little feel of low blood sugar because we are on a Protein diet with cutting out sugar. sugar gives you a high followed by a huge drop in energy. follow eating good nutritious Protein based foods.

Good point. Good nutrition should be the ultimate goal. However if you're light headed to the point of passing out, then blood sugar needs to be taken care of immediately.

I drank half a bottle of apple juice and felt instantly better. No need to suffer just to learn a lesson. Feeling better puts you in a position to make good decisions moving forward. Everyone is different so the terms "always" and "never" don't really apply.

Most importantly, talk to your doctor. His advice trumps my or anyone e else's advice you'll get here.

Had same issue and was told to drink more Fluid. Maybe a few more ounces of Protein Shake and that worked for me. Now, I have a similar problem 18 months down the road and 95 pounds gone. I never had high blood pressure even when I was at my highest weight of 265. Always around 112/75. Now if I can get it up to 95/65 I am doing good. When i get out of bed I have to sit on the edge of the bed for a few seconds and the room stops spinning then I am ok to get up. PA said she has low blood pressure and gave me the suggestions of sitting upright before standing up. Just hate it when the bed spinns. Reminds me of my drinking days in the days of my misspent youth!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
