Weight loss/fitness "contagion"?

Recommended Posts

I thought this was interesting. A Stanford study (from a few years back) concluded that those who lost weight via WLS tended to have a moderate weight loss "halo" effect on their family members as well, even if they didn't get WLS:

Happens in our house. Every time I go on a diet, hubby loses 20 pounds.

Without fail.

Damnit. ;)

It's happening here. H has lost over five pounds just from eating less. He is already skinny but had a little tummy which is almost all gone now.

I think it's eye opening for a lot of people at least in the US to see how little food we actually need to thrive.

His portion sizes have gone way down.

My husband is immune to this. He is literally eating ice cream right now, at 12am. He's pretty thin though, save for a bit of tummy. The cat, however, is on a diet. LOL!

We were at a family gathering this weekend and hubby who has lost four lbs got all kinds of compliments. I've lost over 40 and only one person noticed it.

That sucks doesn't it? My husband only had to put out a modicum of effort and his weight would come off on Weight Watchers; it would make me so frustrated. I would be hungry, logging everything, and my weight would come off like 0.5 lbs every two weeks, if that.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
