JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

Recommended Posts

You probably haven't had any bowel movements because the turkey is stuck in ur stomach. Be careful ur tummy is raw and it's healing :)

Actually that was just few moments ago that I ate the thin slices turkey. It was a very small piece and I chewed it into tiny portions. I had not had the bowel movement prior to eating the turkey.

Can you give me input on the swollen stomach and no weight loss as of yet?

Hey everyone! I was sleeved July 11 and my

Dr also repaired a hiatel hernia!! I'm in no pain from sleeve but more from my esophagus where hernia was repaired! I cant keep NO Protein shakes down at all! Just apple juice, ice chips, Jello and broth! I feel like crap bc i do feel hungry from not getting Protein in! It hurts when i sip on anything, its terrible!! All i want is mashed potatoes something to quench my craving:(

Any one else have this?

I also have blurred vision, unsure if its from being cooped up inside since Fri!!

I'm regretting this a bit :(

Yes...I had hernia repair also...OMG the spasms were bad! It felt heart attack. .with every sip...I ended up in another day for iv fluids..I new I would totally b dehydrated from not getn anything down..It was finally day 5 they were almost gone. I seen my internists yesterday an surgeon tday..internists said with all the nerve endings cut an swelling that happens. ..feeling much better now 9 days out...:)

I didn't lose any weight my first 3 days, in part because the IV they give us fills us up with liquids. For me I was on Protein day one and that causes a little back up as well. It's been 12 days since my surgery now and I've lost 12 lbs since surgery now. totally normal I've red a lot of other people experiencing that as well.

I am 3 days out post op. I had my sleeve on July 14th. I am doing well with the broth and Clear Liquids but I'm starving! I slipped an ate a couple of bites of the thin sliced turkey. So far I'm okay. My only worry is my stomach is REALLY swollen, I haven't had a bowel movement. And unlike the others I have read about, I have not lost ANY weight since surgery 3 days ago. I'm a little sad about that. I lost 12 lbs during pre op diet but no more since.

Has anyone else had the same issues as me?

I also had the blurred vision but was told by the nurse that it was due to the little patch placed behind my ear to prevent nausea. She informed me to remove it, so I'll see if that helps.

I was sleeved on the 14th too and my tummy is really swollen. I'm wearing a restriction belt and that seems to help.

Don't even worry about the scale until two weeks out. They pumped us so full of fluids plus the swelling; there's no reason to worry about weight now. On the upside, I'm not hungry at all! Struggling to get my Water in. Only 24 ounces today :(

Everyone is different. My date was 7/2 and I can eat about a cup, then I get full. My sleeve seems to empty fast. This is when I need to do better with Water. I forget to drink water and eat. The shakes are the most filling things I get. This is the first day of week three.

I had my surgery on July 14th! Gas pains made me feel like I was dying! My goodness, but walking very much helped! I've been living off of broth and Popsicles! Ready to be a functioning member of society again :-)!post op is scheduled for the 24th. I'm so glad I had this done, I'd love to be healthy and happy again!

Week 3

My date was 7/2. I'm wondering what some other folks from the first week of July are able to eat. I'm still prettying on liquids. I am having some Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. I haven't ventured past that.

So what are you guys eating for your 3rd week that sits well?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
