What am I doing wrong?

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on May 27, 2014 and I've only lost 23 lbs since then. I have been walking and now starting Zumba at home... I see everyone else losing 40-60 lbs and I feel so defeated. I know that everyone is different but i'm worried I'm eating too much or something. any ideas?

thanks in advance!!!

You are doing fine. I lost 28 lbs my 1st month and I too thought I was behind the curve. I read lots of threads and my mind tends to filter out all the threads I didn't want to remember. I only wanted to remember the threads from the "fast losers". So don't feel left out. You're on the half-fast losers bench. :-)

Here's a post about being a half-fast loser I made just a few months after surgery -

Unfortunately it's true, everyone loses at a different pace, don't worry. I went through some weeks with zero loss, only to turn around and have great results the following week. Keep doing what you know to do, i.e. stay active and eat smart...the lbs. will drop.

By the way, 23 lbs. ain't too shabby! Give yourself a little credit! :D

Good luck!

I had surgery May 29 and have lost 24 pounds since surgery date and 20 during pre-op. Feels slow to me too but if I keep it up, in another 5 weeks I will be down about 50 pounds in the 3 months since surgery and those numbers sound good. (although, I have a recurring fantasy that one morning I will wake up and just be at my goal weight... )

Just keep doing what you are doing, and the weight will keep coming off. Don't give up and let chips or sweets sneak back into your diet and keep moving, even if it is just walking.

Please focus on yourself and your eating. We are all different. Don't worry about others. We all end up on the loser's bench. Focus, eat right, follow your plan = success.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
