Hello,

My surgery is scheduled for Aug. 12th. I'm now getting nervous. I've had several people say to me that they heard people gain it all back and more. Is that true?

Wow! I am planning on an Aug 26 surgery also! My doc only operates on Tuesdays and I need to be done before the kiddos go back to school after Labor Day. Glad to see a few others sharing the day with me!

I'm Aug 12th as well! From what I've seen and heard, as long as you follow your diet from the doc and NUT, you should lose and maintain. Only people I've heard of gaining back are those that stretch out their new pouch and go back to their old eating habits.

I'm scheduled for surgery Aug. 1. I'm supposed to start my preop diet tomorrow!

Hi Coffeebeanz, let us how you do. What foods are you eating or drinking for preop. Does it help with appetite or fullness? Headaches or dizziness from not giving the body what it was used to?

I just got a call today that my date has been moved up to July 29th. My paperwork was submitted this morning and when they called to change the date I was approved over the phone.

Best of luck to everyone.

I just got my approval today. I'm waiting for a call back from the surgeon's office with a surgery date! I'm very excited and nervous at the same time. Would anyone share what they are drinking on their two week liquid diet?

August 25th at 11am for me! Excited and nervous at the same time. First time in my life I have no control over what is happening. LOL! Anyone else feel that way? I can not wait to start feeling "normal". I've adapted to this body for so many years and am looking forward to the changes to come. You mean to tell me not everyone gets winded going up steps? People are not constantly tired and people actually enjoy exercise? Shut yo' mouth! Can't wait!

Ugh. I am so not excited by surgery. I suppose it's normal for an almost 50 year old to not be looking forward to this...I've had several surgeries and even when they go

100% it's still hard. I think I need an attitude adjustment! Anyway, I'm not doing this to be excited, I'm doing it for better health so surgery it is and I'll follow my surgeons plan 100%!! I'm hoping after this weight is off

I'll feel excited! Anyone else feel this way?

I kinda understand where you're coming from. My date is August 18th...but I just can't get excited. I've been waiting two years for approval, and it very nearly didn't happen at all because of my cancer diagnosis midway through the process. Now I'm dealing with hearing loss, and the struggles entailed with that. I'm just going day by day right now. I don't think I will believe it until I wake up and they tell me it's been done. THEN I can move ahead with life and start to actually believe that it is possible for me to be healthy again.

*hugs*

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water. Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
