So I know many bandsters can't eat in the morning. But does anyone have trouble drinking coffee? I've always had a cup of coffee first thing in the morning, while getting ready for work. Now I cant even do that - I feel like a big hair ball is stuck in my throat every time I take a sip. I have been having to reheat my one cup of coffee like 5 times, and it's usually around 10am by the time I actually enjoy it. Anyone??

P.S. Last time I had an adjustment was in March...and it was a slight unfill.

I haven't had trouble with coffee...and am thankful to that...but I have read on here some folks that have had issues...so I think it's normal. Hope other things are going well for you though...you take care okay? Happy 4th of July to ya!!!

Yes, when my band was too tight I never had a hot cup of anything (or a hot meal). For my morning coffee, I had to put it in a travel mug and just sip it very slowly. One cup would last me two hours.

For me, that means I'm too tight. For others, though, they like this amount of restriction.

With each fill, it was more difficult early morning, but eventually, that has relaxed. I think in part,I was drinking too fast. What I did is bought a cup hot plate warmer and placed it next to my favorite chair. It also has been useful in keeping my cup of food warm my entire 30 minutes while eating. They are meant to be warmers for your desk, so they are portable and cheap. You will find your way! It's so important to live in your 'real' right now. Accept your new changes and improve them where you can.

Your issue could be caused by many things. TOM, excessive sodium, stuck episodes and allergies to name a few. I guess it depends on how long this has been going on? If it's just a few days or a week you might want to ride it out to see if it takes care of itself?

If not, another slight unfill is in order?

One last suggestion? Most people prefer warm or Hot Drinks to soften/loosen up in the mornings. But if the issue is caused by inflammation, chewing on ice chips or very cold fluids might reduce some of that swelling? It's worth a try?

I think I will give it another week or so it see if it improves, and if not - I will get another unfill. I have been having more stuck episodes lately :(

I have been banded for almost 7 years and have the same problem with drinking hot tea in the morning. I can only take very little sips throughout the morning. By mid morning it does away. Not sure why, but you just deal with it.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
