I've read that getting the maximum possible Protein intake helps curb hair loss. Yes? No?

I am 7 months post op. I also HAD very thick hair but at about month 3 my hair was coming out by the handfuls. I read on here that this sometimes happens and usually between 3-9 months.

I was seriously afraid that I was going to have huge bald Patches but that has not happened. My Hair loss has slowed down quite a bit thank goodness. I am taking 4 Biotin a day, 2 in the morning and 2 at night as my nails are brittle and skin is overly dry.

I had my hair cut and colored yesterday and expressed my frustration to the stylist who assured me that my hair is indeed growing back in the form of thousands of baby hairs. (The little flyaway hairs that are less than an inch long and stick straight up). She had a hard time getting them all covered. We added a few more layers so they would blend and of course those little ones once they get to be a couple of inches long will add the illusion of volume, so, there is hope on the horizon. It does come back. Be patient, do what you can and keep your chin up. The weight loss is SO VERY WORTH IT. I would gladly wear a wig if it came to it in order to be healthy and hot again, LOL

How far out from surgery are you? I feel for you. It's definitely the one trade off that has been hardest. I need a dry Shampoo. Anyone have recommendations? I am trying to go to an every other day wash but my scalp is oily. I just find I lose twice as much when I wash every other day but at least that might help the brittleness. Fun stuff, ladies. :(

At my salon we sell REF dry shampoo and Aldo BedHead has 2...1-rock a holic dry shampoo & 2- oh bee hive dry shampoo...all are aerosol and work great just have different smells!

8 months post sleeve. My very blonde very fine and thin hair is now chopped off in an attempt to do what, I do not know. Toppik did not work around my face at all so money down the drain. Biotin for 9-10 months. Taken every Vitamin known to man. Read profusely. Bought 5 wigs. Tiring of visors. Got in the pool tonight and touched the back of my hair and a clump came out. I quit washing and blowdrying constantly since my hair is very dry and I can honestly go two weeks between washing because using no hair spray and gels. I will survive. My husband asked tonight, what IF it doesn't grow back. I replied, then I will just be thinner and bald like you! Keeping the faith......

Not sure of the correct dosage of fish oil but reading an article on 3 fat chicks it takes about a month for real noticeable results

More Iron ladies. Whatever supplements you're taking to supplement your Iron levels - treble it.

Eat more red meat. There is no substitute for it - red meat rocks.

I was advised to do this by my doctor. The moment I did, the hair loss abated and is now growing back apace.

As with everyone else, my hair started falling out at 3 months, was bad 4-6.5/7 months and is now growing back like little weeds.

Biotin supplements? Did nothing for me.. Other than to make my thighs and belly very very hairy. Ewww...

Being anemic can cause hair loss.

I lost half my hair when I had my band surgery. It was just starting to look better when it was time for my revision. My hair has never gotten as thick as it was before the 2 surgeries. The crazy thing is, it grew back in curly. I've never had curly hair and had perms that came out straight, when I tried to have curl.

Now, I have ringlets and curls.

I started on Biotin before band surgery and have stayed on it all these years and have kept up on my Iron and nothing seems to help.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
