Hi all. I am about 3 weeks post- op and doing ok in that regard. I was still having a lot of pain, though, so last week my gastro doc ordered a CT scan. It revealed some anomalies like a large ascities next to my liver. My gastro doc compared the scan to the one I had in Jan., well before the surgery, and said it was there then too. So I called the surgeon who did my gastric bypass and was basically told that it had nothing to do with the bypass so they weren't going to deal with it. If my gastro guy was concerned, HE should order a needle biopsy. Is that a big brush off or what?

Anyway, I did some calling around and it looks like I will be going to the mayo clinic in Jacksonville, Florida next week.

Has anyone been there? Or to a Mayo facility? I am scared & don't know what to expect. Any input, good or bad, is welcome!

I have heard good things about the mayo clinic and you are doing the right thing. You don't need one doctor switching responsibility to the other doctor, playing games with your life. Get a new set of eyes to look at it and help you.

The mayo clinic here in Jacksonville can be slow at times. Just a heads up, be patient. But other than that it's a great facility. I used to have patients who went there (I worked in a pharmacy )

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
