I had my surgery about 10 months ago and have developed a rather horrible reaction to something, the reason I think it's related to my lapband is because my sister also got this about 6 months post op.

I developed a lumpy rash (similar to insect bites) between my thighs and on my upper arms and put it down to loose skin as I had lost a fair amount a weight from these areas.

It has gradually become worse and is now all over my body - the lumps not so much but the itching is everywhere. I have never had allergies in my life but it almost seems like a severe allergic reaction. It seems to be worse of an evening/night and is bad enough that it wakes me up.

I have tried using special sensative allergy washing powder but this hasn't worked. It's so bad that I've scratched myself so hard that I'm worried I'm going to cause an infection as there are wounds from my scratching.

The only thing that seems to sooth it temporarily is tea tree cream but it's only a temporary fix...

I was wondering if anyone else had experiences this or could help

I would call a dermatologist. The band is made from allergy free material. I would think it was something else.

I had this same thing happen to me last year(about a year after my lap band)..nothing seemed to help..I went to a allergists and he could not find anything, I had allergy testing done...it just finally went away that spring and I haven't had any problem since..maybe it was nerves? Not everyone in my life was happy for my weight loss...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
