I Have been doing a lot of reading on this site and getting quite the education :D. A lot of people are talking about pb and sliming. Do most people pb and slime? is it normal or the exception? Is it something i should be prepared to live with if i get the band. Would also like to know what you "losers":) are eating after you are all healed (Like past 6 mos). Can you sit down to a meal with family and eat a small meal with out a lot of special preperation? Sorry if i missed this in a previous thead still learning to navigate this site

Many thanks

Spunk

You do have to learn what you can eat at first. I think it has to do with your surgery and healing. I felt me eating too fast and not chewing long enough caused my "watering of the mouth" . I did acturally throw up maybe 3 times.

I don't have any trouble with any foods now at 9 mos. I cannot eat alot but anything. You don't need a big plate (lol) but I don't ask for a small one.

I have felt cofortable with any food for about 3 months now.

I guess about the first 6 months I kept in mind what foods would be available and brought some along that would keep me from being hungry.

I did have chicken trouble at first but only prepared with certain seasoning. It dawned on me its the seasoning not chicken . Duh.

Best wishes

edie

I agree. It is not normal to be PB'ing and Sliming all the time. Usually this is a symptom of being too tight. I have had both of these happen to me a few times but each time it was totally my fault...didn't follow the rules! So, just like edieparks said...once you learn for yourself what you can handle then you should be fine. It is a learning curve at first so I experimented with new foods by eating extra slowly until I could see how they would work for me. But in general...I have no problems with food and only PB or slime if I've made a sloppy mistake!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
