I think thats what I need...again, I did a liquid pre-op diet at the beginning of the year and started to get back on track, then I had knee surgery then everything went down hill again. It is exhausting! But I won't give up or quit.

Hi everyone! I am in San Antonio, TX. I am trying to start the process to have the Sleeve done at SAMMC. I went to my PCM and was told I might not be a candidate and I did not get a referral to the bariatric clinic. This is so frustrating! I have been battling with my weight since I was 17. My BMI is 36.6. Has anyone been through the process at SAMMC? Can you tell me how you got started? Also, does anyone know of comorbidities other than the obvious ones usually listed that they will accept? Thanks!!

Update!! I have my first appointment with the bariatric clinic on 8/20. I have to do the 4 hour information seminar as my first step. Come to find out I didn't need a referral from my PCP. Yay!! So I guess they will tell me if I might qualify with my comorbidities.

Hi - Lisa G - It is NEVER too late to start again and get refocused. We can't change what we have already done, but the future is ours! We have ALL been there.

Much Love,

Melissa

I am having my surgery Monday with Dr Seger. I actually just had my last preop appt with him. It's getting real now!

Hi Knitlil09

Dr Seger is my surgeon too! He is awesome. I go in 8/11/14 for the surgery at Foundation Surgical Hospital. How do you feel?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
