Between surgery and first fill...

Recommended Posts

What was your average weight loss during this period? I'm stuck at 25 lbs and don't feel restricted. Just wondering if others went through this. Plus, will it start to come off more quickly once I get a fill? Anxious and discouraged I guess. Thanks for any feedback.

I think someone answered this already pretty much what I thought.

I'm really trying to be sympathetic here but come on, you're only 3 weeks post op? Did you think the band would go on and presto, you're skinny?? This might take years to lose all the weight. That's the tough love. Your journey does not start till your band is adjusted properly. That could be no fills or 10 fills. Many and I mean many people do not lose weight at this stage of their journey. Some gain and if you're watching the scale every day it might go up and down for several months. Nothing to worry about and you're not a failure till you give up. Your weight will never go down every day or every week. It just doesn't work that way. Good luck. tmf

The standard answer is "this is a time for healing not losing weight". If you do lose some fat it's icing on the cake. The point of getting the band is so it can help you eat less food. That won't happen till it's adjusted. Btw 25 lbs is much More than most.

25 pounds is a lot of weight, the slower you loose the better the chances you keeping it off! Lap band is a great tool to help you loose, the real challenge is changing your eating habits. Focus on the habits that need to be changed rather than how quickly you will loose. It's real important to change the food attitude. I want to have the attitude "Eat to live not live to eat! Keep up the great work and let the band work for you:)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
