early plateau normal?

Recommended Posts

Just looking for some guidance. I'm 11 days post op and 20lbs down. However I've been the same weight for 3 days now. I know plateaus happen, but I was expecting it at week 3 or 4 and after. Has anyone experienced this so early in the process when the pounds should be melting off?

Guys, I was just there. I panicked until I posted basically the same exact thing. We all expereince this. Just remember to drink a TON OF WATER!!! And enough Protein. And make sure that you are not snakcing in between. Everything will start to work itself up again. Your body just realizes that it lost a ton of weight and doesn't understand why. I was in my stall for about 3 weeks. It's frustrating, but this too shall pass.

Ok Meesh... you're the pro. I will just stay the course knowing that I'm doing what I'm supposed to and pray that my body catches up. I'm 204.6 so I'm anxious to cross over!!!! That's my first milestone!

11 days post op and 20lbs down is way ahead of where I was 11 days post-op. I think I lost 25 lbs in the 1st month. But since it sounds like you're a fast loser, your body may be going into starvation mode faster. Just hang in there and let your body get used to the new situation. I found that I would hit a plateau at least once a month, but as long as I stuck to my eating guidelines, the weight would start falling again.

Thanks for posting. I am 6 weeks post op and I tend to lose then plateu, then drop, then repeat. My doc says this is normal Down 34 lbs which is great. The "stops" can be frustrating. I try to look at my clothes and how they fit and my reflection in the mirror. It's so exciting to be on this journey.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
