I just had a lap-band with plication yesterday (June 30) -- done outpatient in a surgical center, so I went right home. I'm feeling pretty good, but also "bloated" from the gas and kind of scared and confused about what to eat (well, drink) and what not to. Seems like different doctor's have different post-op rules -- mine says no Jello and no pudding now, but I can have Soup with no little bits of anything in it. Anyway, I'm eager to hear how other Junie's are doing. And, by the way, is there an actual June 2014 group -- and how do I find that?

I don't know how to "message" you except for this way (I'm new to BP), unless this is what you mean by message you. I had surgery on Monday (June 30) so I just got in under the wire. Anyway, please invite me. Should I send you my F'book email "publicly" like this? Please let me know. Thanks so much. I'm really eager to join the FB group!

Hi Erica. I had surgery June 11th, no issues and I am doing pretty well on all solid food too. Mainly eating eggs, tuna, canned chicken etc. Did have a hamburger patty the other night. Well a 1/4 of one. I ate it for 3 meals. I have tried to find the Facebook page doing a search and can't find it. Has it been deleted? I am down 26 lbs total including pre-op diet!! Best thing I have done for myself!! Good Luck to everyone!

The page is still active

I sent you a private message... at the top tight of the bariatric pal website there should be a mail icon. click it and it should open the list of mail you have received. Let me know if you have any questions.

I am officially two weeks out and just now starting to feel like a person again. I can say that I haven't lost a lot post op but I did lose quite.a bit on the pre op diet. I guess I am being a bit impatient.

Mind if I join?

Hi all! I had my surgery June 30th! (I made it into this awesome group by the skin of my teeth!)

I had RNY, I am 25 years old, and I'm doing alright! I'm a bit sore, but I'm able to get liquid down pretty easily. It actually scares me how easy it is, but at least I'm not having trouble...right?

Hi, H. I also had my surgery the same day as you did. I'm doing about the same as you, and it didn't occur to me until you mentioned it, but I get liquids down quite easily. I didn't even think about it! Now I'm wondering if I should slow down. I'm not drinking gin -- just things like Protein drinks and (yes) coffee, but it all seems to be going well. I'm the kind of person who's always looking for new things to worry about (neurosis is my hobby), so now I'll have to start paying attention to how much and how quickly I am drinking these liquids. Have you been hungry at all? Light-headed? Are you up and at 'em yet? Interested to hear your progress in other areas besides liquids.

I'm just drinking Protein Shakes and Water. I am moving around alright. I try to walk as much as possible. I find getting in and out of bed is the most uncomfortable part of my day. I haven't been hungry or light-headed at all. 8 ounces in 2 hours last night made it feel like I had a Thanksgiving Day feast. It was so weird.

I feel like an idiot -- but what is RNY? I had lap band with plication (do you know what that is?) and had it done (self-pay -- yikes!) by a doctor in L.A., which is where I live. I get the getting in and out of bed stuff. Sadly, I like getting into bed more than I like getting out of it! Today, I gotta move!

RNY is a Roux en Y Gastric Bypass. I figured if I am going to do this, I might as well do it all the way, lol.

Wow, that is heavy-duty. Isn't the recovery for that supposed to be much longer and much more "rigorous" than a lap band? How did you happen to make that decision, if you don't mind me asking. If you do mind me asking -- well, answer anyway! It's totally anonymous here!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
