I had the band in 2010. I lost 80lbs and started having band issues. So, I had a revision April 15th best decision. No more worrying about my band.

I had a band for 6 years, it slipped and then I had it repositioned. It was never the same. 9 months later I was revised to RNY. It's a brand new world, wish I had gone this route in the first place.

I was revised from band to rny same day on May 21, 2014. My band eroded. I was at goal when it eroded... I chose the revision based on these facts: 1. I was self pay and didn't want to pay to have another band placed and have it erode 6 years later like this one did 2. I have a blood clotting disorder and only wanted to have 1 final wls surgery 3. Seeing so many revisions from band or sleeve to rny made me choose rny , again only wanted 1 final surgery. 4. My doc said he is steering away from bands because of the high failure rate after 5 years. So those are my reasons for revisions... Getting information is key to making the right choice for you.. Oh and rny is soooo much easier than lapband was for me!!! I have no sliming, no throwing up, no having to look for a bathroom before I eat to be sure I can get there.. I have had no dumping, I eat whatever I want but I still stay away from rice Pasta white bread and soda same as I did with the band.. I don't feel stuck either.. Wish I had done rny first! I love it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
