I am a month and a half post op and this week I could eat the walls down. Granted the first 5 weeks were total hell. To the point I had to go back in for emergency surgery at 5 weeks. My energy level is back and I finally feel human again, but I feel guilty for being hungry HELP!!!!

You should definitely not feel guilty for feeling hungry. I'm 7 weeks out today and some days I

feel hungry all day, other days I force myself to eat. I'm not sure why, but I know it's not my

fault. If I'm hungry, I eat. I'm not going to starve myself more than I already am. I'll have some fruit or cottage cheese, that usually feels me up. Drinking a lot of Water seems to help too.

Just make sure it's real hunger and not head hunger as they call it and take it one day at a time. Good luck.

Find something to do; keeping reading posts on this forum for inspiration, whatever works to take your mind off food. It's your mind not your tummy talking to you.

Why did you have to go back in for emergency surgery?

I had a hole in my stomach. I was basically filling up with air on the inside.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
