I have PCOS and hypothyroidism. Surgery was 3/31. I started at 267 and as of last week I was 238. Of course I would love for it to be more but it's much more than it would have been if I had not had the surgery. I'm thankful for every single pound.

I am currently going through the rounds of being diagnosed with PCOS. I have had irregular bleeding since surgery. I have bled from surgery 11/20/2013 for three months straight and now having periods every four days. My old OB will not diagnose me with it even though I am not producing follicles on my ovaries, and I have a cyst on my right ovary. I am mirroring the same symptoms that my sister is and she was missed diagnosed by the same OB. My weight loss has stalled, I am going up and down on the scale like crazy. One day I will be 290 and the other day I will be 287. So hopefully June 16th I will get answers. I just started a second birth control as well to help produce more estrogen.

I also have pcos, I have had if since I was 16. I have tried fertility an every diet under the sun. Nothing worked. So my fertility specialist recommend this surgery, an said there has been a lot of success with pcos after this surgery. My periods have always been out of whack, 3 months with out 1 then a hole month on! It's been so bad for me that I have to wear a pad every day cause i never no when it's going to start!

Example: morning if will be there an by lunch it's gone. Get home in evening an it's back! Smh.,,

Stats:

I'm 1 week post op, was sleeved 5/28, an I'm down 17 lbs from surgery date. Started cycle 2 days ago, an it hasn't stopped it's been straight smooth sailing. I guess now I'm just wait in for the 7 days to see if it stops it not! Hopefully it does, that will at least mean I'm on my way to being regulated;)

That's great! What was your surgery weight?

I had surgery on 4/14/14. My day of surgery weight was 277.0 and today I am 243.4! That is a 33.6 weight loss. I have not hit any stalls at all and have not gained at all so I am thankful for my lost, even if I think it is slow. I am just now starting to work out. I am starting with Zumba. I really enjoyed it before surgery. My last 2 periods have been natural and a even 7 days! I even started on the day I was suppose too this month. That has never happened in my entire life! My goal weight right now is 225# so my BMI will be below 40. I can't wait to start back on my fertility treatments! I am so ready to be pregnant again! I have struggled with years of fertility with each of my children and have this time since December. I want a little boy so badly! Praying for each of you, as I know PCOS has many issues. God bless!!

i was diagnosed with pcos about 16 years ago. i have been on Yaz and Metformin for many many years (have one IVF baby and one adopted). i was told by my surgeon that the hormonal changes immediately post op will outweigh the ovarian problems initially and that most patients have about the same stalls, pcos or not.

he also told me that although i am expected to have a normal weight of 125 and a bmi of around 22, i will likely still have pcos...

So nice to hear from all of you! I also have PCOS, and have also struggled with infertility. I'm getting sleeved on Monday (less than 48 hours away!), and I am so hopeful that it will help get my PCOS under control.

I've been married for 8 years, and we have had no luck with pregnancy. Last year, I tried Clomid for 6 months. It did exactly what it was supposed to do (multiple follicles were produced each month), but I never succeeded in getting pregnant. All of my hormones were good, my husband was checked, and he was above average for his count and quality, and still no success. I even tried an IUI, but it still didn't happen.

I am having this surgery for SO many other reasons than to try and become pregnant, but I can't help but being the slightest bit hopeful. If I can dream...

I suffered infertility and painful irregular periods for years! Ultimately we adopted my 2 boys when they were babies and they are now 9. Before surgery I had not had a period in over 2 years. I honestly figured I was pre-menopausal. At almost exactly 4 weeks post op here she comes back to haunt me! At 43, with 2 9-year olds, I really don't want more children so I'm back on BC. I'm grateful for the lbs lost (38 sleeved may 5th) and the idea that my body is going to be healthier. I also noticed the hair on my legs is growing much slower. Yippee!

I was sleeved march 20th and I'm down 40 pounds. My diabetes is now under control without meds. My period cycle has changed from a 32 day cycle to a 29 day cycle. My period cramps have also gotten much more painful. I'm not sure what that means. But I will be calling my doctor soon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
