My surgery is scheduled for June 17 as well! I'm having mine done at Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio. How about you?

My doctor first recommended bariatric surgery about two years ago. I attended my first information session in August 2013. As I am using a military facility (my husband is a retired Marine), I did not have to go through the insurance approval process. I was required to attend nutrition sessions, psych eval, support groups, etc. So I've been busy!

I'm 44 and wish I'd done this sooner. How about you?

I'm 25 and have two kids... I've spent all of my adult life caring for them and going to school. It's finally time that I worry about my health! I've been going through the process since January... My mother had the lap band a few years ago and that's what I originally wanted until I learned more about the sleeve.

My date is going to be that week. I'm having my surgery in Birmingham, AL. I'm 43 and wish I had done this years ago. It has seemed "unreal" until now. I may go into full panic mode when I get the exact date!

I am June 13! I am excited but nerves are kicking in!!! I just cleaned out closets and had a huge garage sale! I was excited to get rid of all of my clothes except two outfits and all of my workout clothes.Even shoes!!!!! I am changing for good and I don't have the clothes to fall back on now. What have y'all done so far that has made that aha moment for you?????

I am also on the 18th of June and I am excited beyond words. I am also extremely impatient by nature so the waiting is killing me. I am also in San Antonio.

I ordered a nice robe for the hospital. When it arrived, I tried it on and looked in the mirror and it hit me that this surgery is really going to happen! Excited and nervous, which I think is normal at this point. Really dreading the two week pre-op liquid diet but am committed to it 100%.

I know the feeling. I went and bought a new robe and stretchy pant pjs as well. I had to buy a 3x to compensate for bloating. I told myself this is the last time I will buy this size of clothing. I always have anxiety but its really making me super restless. What are any of you doing to help the time pass by? Are any of you starting to look at magazines or clothing differently?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
