Any other spouses getting/or had it done together?

My husband will be getting a sleeve and I'll get an RNY (because of gerd and hernia) hopefully next month. We are getting surgery clearance from our MD on Wednesday (hopefully!!!) And NUT too, then seeing the psych the following Monday then final approval from insurance- UHC JPMogan Chase. We are going through their bariatric program and have gotten first approval already.

Hubby and I want to be on the same/similar food track to make this easier for both of us with our meals and accountability.

I was sleeved May 8, 2013 and my wife July 8, 2013. While my surgery and recovery were textbook, hers was a bit more challenging. She had two hernias repaired and it took about 3-4 weeks for her to quit complaining...uh-hm, I mean start to feel better! ;)

Now, that period of time is a distant memory! She can tolerate just about everything, albeit in moderation. I can eat almost everything, but for some weird reason, still have a tough time with canned tuna fish!? I can eat steak, chicken, fresh tuna steaks, roast, crawfish, ribs, etc., etc....but canned tuna just doesn't sit well w/me. No worries, I can live without it!

am down 117 lbs. and hit my original goal around 4 months ago.

My wife is down 80 lbs. and hit her goal about 3 months ago (She looks fantastic, but she's on a mission...I told her I don't want to feel like I'm hugging a sack of hammer handles!).

Very thankful we decided to do it together.

Godspeed for a rapid recovery and fantastic journey for y'all! :D

My fiance and I will be going down to Mexico to have gastric sleeves on May 31st! I will do my best to keep up on this site how our journey is going. I'm pretty nervous but also very hopeful :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
