There are quite a group of us going to DePaul. Have you gone to a seminar there yet John? My DH and I went last week and it was extremely informative. DH was quite concerned about he procedure and now he is 100% on board for me to have it. The staff at the WLI are great. Welcome aboard.

I hope to be at that support group meeting. It depends on if I can talk DD into driving me there. It pretty much depends on how I feel.

I will not be at the support group on the 20th due to the fact of what time they hold it and traffic getting there. I wish I had the time to get there. As far as getting a fill on March 6th- I go at 8:50 am. I will be on the look out for other bandsters. Later-- StlouisGal-- how did your surgery go?

I'm home and banded. Hospital experience was great! Not a lot of pain, just achy and hard to get up and down. Only needed a couple of doses of pain killer so I think I'm doing pretty good. If I can get a ride to the support group meeting I'll be there. Not sure I'll be up to driving by then. I think DD will bring me.

Getting the insurance paperwork sent, accepted, approved, etc. is the worst part of the whole deal. It took the Dr's office three weeks to send mine because they were looking into things. I guess that is to make sure the surgery is safe. That is why DePaul has such an excellent record I think. Call them about once a week to make sure you aren't on a desk somplace forgotten.

Take care!

My name is Pat. I think I have it worked out so I can be there. DD had a meeting she can't get out of until six so DH is going to have to forgo church this one time unless I decide I can drive myself. As good as I feel right now that is a good possibility.

Where is it? The May Center?

Did you guys go tonight.

I was there. It was packed not a seat in the house. I was surprised. All the other ones I went to only had maybe 20 people.

Yes, I was there, sitting along the back wall. Sorry I didn't catch up with you. I thought it was pretty interesting even though I don't typically like such large crowds. I wish they would split it into a support group for bands and bypass.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
