Falling apart before I even start!

Recommended Posts

Hi, So here's the thing. I finally got my surgery date last week, and I have all the normal doubts/excitement extreme thoughts that go along with this decision. But since getting the date I've managed to put my back out in two places,( T8 and lumbar) get a severe case of Gastro, and now I have an impacted wisdom tooth pushed through and causing infection and pain (I'm 39years old)!!! I mean wisdom tooth! REALLY!!! Is it just me, or does everyone fall apart before surgery??? Not sure if I should laugh or cry at this point..

That seems like bad luck. Maybe it's pre-surgery stress nibbling away at your body, weakening your resistance. Then again, it's better to deal with an infection now than right after the surgery, so maybe it's good luck in disguise. Just a thought.

Thanks sugarBomb, you're right, just bad luck. It's easy to get worked up when your emotions are all over the shop to start with.

Ya that sounds like bad luck but if you look at the positive in things this will so help you with the pre op diet I remember when I go my wisdom teeth out I was on a liquid and did good because of the pain but know I can't stay on this liquid diet it's like I get up at 2 in the morning for a piece of bread and I just ruined all days work

dobt be to hard on yourself. we all have made mistakes when it comes to the liquid requirment.if u have bread dont think of it as ruining the day....yout caved into ur brains temper tamtrum.. as i like to call it. the whole point of this process is to retrain yourself...and its not ganna happen over night. just give your self credit for tge good your doing. and check your self when you cave in.....if u need to chat...u can always message me

Oh, please laugh, don't cry… it's always the best medicine, dontcha know!

Months from now as you are staring at the next pile of clothes to be thrown out/donated because you getting so darned skinny, you'll laugh then too. And you'll think back to these times and laugh some more!

Be well…

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
