Help! Letter of medical necessity

Recommended Posts

That's the only thing missing for the insurance. I do not seem to convince my previous or new doctor to write me the letter. What should I do? I do have a gap of 3 years where I didn't see any doctors due to not having insurance then.

Please help!!

Ask your insurance if a 2nd opinion letter would be acceptable? Not sure how to get around that one I am sorry

Hey, there is no way around the letter. Maybe try to have a candid conversation with your Doctor. I don't know what your stats are, but on your next visit, I would just. Say look at me. Have you ever been obeses? Do you have any idea what it's like to be obese and to live life this way? Do you have any idea about the struggle I have with being like this when I don't want to? Talk about how you went with out insurance for so many years and have tried all you can think of. If you have any comorbidies talk about them to. Talk about quality of life and being allowed to correct your previous bad decisions. If you can tug on emotions, maybe you have a shot. Good luck!

Thank for your reply...I appreciate it. Surgeon gave me a sample letter and I have modified it a bit to fit my situation. I will bring this letter to my doctor today.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
