Huge Hematoma (Lump) where the port was

Im 5 days post OP ( Lap Band to RNY) the seconday after the surgery I noticed a hudge Lump about the size of a tennise ball. The surgeon said it was a hematoma from the band port. Its going down but it's still sore to the touch. Is this normal???

Oh gosh I hope not!! I am having mine removed and then my bypass, just like you....Did your doctor have you get an Upper GI Series x-ray to see what was going on with your band before the surgery?

You could see on my stomach where the port was at first, but I am 15 days out and it is gone. I don't know when it went away, but it did:)
