Waiting now....cant wait to hear if I am approved. Does anyone else have FEP Blue Basic? How long did it take you to get approved?

Two days........but I had to be proactive about it. Packet was submitted on a Wednesday. I called BCBS on Friday and was told it was approved. I called the bariatric office on Monday and they had not heard anything.....their certification specialist was off for the week (Thanksgiving). By the next Monday, I had received a letter from BCBS that I was approved for a five day stay for my surgery. I called the bariatric clinic on Tuesday.....did not get a return call from the cert, so I faxed them the letter I got....right away got my surgery date from the surgeon.

Good Luck and hope everything goes well for you. Let us know what happens. Did you medical center seem to think you would qualify? Did you have to do a 3 month medically supervised diet first? I have FBCBS Basic but I also have Medicare which is now my primary since my husband retired. I am just starting out my first appointment is May 16th but with Medicare they require a 6 month medically supervised diet along with other things. I was talking to FBCBS and they told me that I not only have to complete Medicare's requirements but I also have to complete their requirements too. How easy was it to complete the requirements and how long did it take you?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
