Who knew I would be so excited about....get ready for it:-)

Okios Greek Yogurt Dip. That's right, before surgery I was a big dip junkie, I ate it on almost anything:-) Obviosuly it was something I had to give up because well it's not very nutritious BUT recently I discovered Okios greek yogurt dip. I think it's been our for a while but I told myself that stuff can't be any good until the other day when I was at the store and had a craving I just couldn't kick so I broke down and bought some of the french onion and for comparrison (for my husband's sake) I also bought the Dean's french onion and to both of our suprise...WE BOTH perferred the Okios to the Deans A serving is 2Tlbs. and only only contains 25cal, 1g fat, 2 carbs, 1g sugar and 2 g Protein.....Yipppeee I never thought I would be so excited about something as silly as this but it's just another little thing that keeps me on track for the long haul of a lifestyle change:-) I thought I would share with everyone just in case you're a dip junkie like me:-) I know I'm a nerd:-) Enjoy.

Check it out for yourself

OK, so I had to go to 3 grocery stores to find something similar. Marzetti's makes this Otria greek yogurt dip but it has over twice as many calories. No Oikos. I'm going to email them. The Otria is delicious. It has the texture of mayonnaise? What is the texture of Oikos? Texture can be one of my thumbs down criteria.

When I first started my journey I tried every greek yogurt in the dairy section and some of the textures were grainy and bitter.

I dipped some veggies in my new Otria red pepper dip and it was good. I bought some mesquite smoked deli turkey and spread some on a slice and threw some veggies on it and rolled it up. Fantastic. Still searching for Oikos though?

Yay!!!! Glad you liked it!! This is exactly how i eat mine on Veggies and lunch meat. Yes the Okios is similar to a sour cream/mayo consistancy. I'm a big texture person too so grainy, bitter, thick just doesn't work for me. Not sure where you live but I buy mine at Hy Vee, Price Chopper, and Dillions/Kroger. Ill ship you some;)

King Soopers(Kroger) carries Okios(Dannon) but they didn't have the dip so I went with the Otria. I made myself a sandwich on Oroweat thin breads with the turkey and used the dip like it was mayo. Great find!!

I haven't tried those but that sound yummy. Do you get them in the health food side of the grocery store?

Have you tried almond thins?

  • 1 month later...

They are in the cracker section.
