  1. I'm well adjusted. But it took over a year to get here. I do not exercise. I do not weigh my portions. I drink alcohol. I do not regurgitate my food. I am losing 6-8 lbs a month. I'm happy. And I do not beat myself up about what I put in my mouth. Average meal is 1/3 cup 5 times a day I eat protein mostly. I tolerate salads as well. No bread.
  2. I'm a year and a half PO. My BF has nicknamed me "The Jet Stream". It just keeps on going! Good thing I have my own office with a closed door!
  3. When yall get stuck do you find yourself in the bathroom with your face in the toilet upchucking what got stuck? Does that eventually damage the band or does it just make you sore? This happens to me several times a week sometimes. And then never for a month.
  4. First time my hole filled with mucus and they had to completely unfill my band. I had to start over. 4 months later, another cold. Not so severe. I drank hot liquids to keep the mucus out but now it feels as though everything is in the wrong place inside me. Minor pains on my side and center above stomach. Like it came undone from coughing and sneezing. Is this possible? I don't feel the normal hiccup when eating. Weird. Any suggestions?
  5. No not really. I went in for the radiograph. Band is good and in place. the informed me that I am still not filled enough from the last time they took it all out in August, so there is no real risk of a clog this time. But I have to keep drinking hot liquids 4-5 times a day to make sure. On liquid Azithromycin (Z Pack). That stuff tastes horrible. Went to a different office today than the one I usually go to. I was way more impressed. They seemed more proactive with the fills so it's not as slow as I have been going.... I am encouraged again. BE CAREFUL when you start to get sick!!! If you are in the green zone, you may run a risk of getting clogged with mucus and have to be un filled completely like I was.
  6. Have radiograph today at 2. This sucks. Second time in one year. I am self pay. So after my surgery date of 12/16 my "yearly warranty" is up! I have only lost 50 lbs. not sure it's been worth it. When that hole gets clogged they pull it all out. You have to start over and you gain. It's so depressing.

  8. They are low calorie and low fat.
  9. I have been at the same fill for over 2 months. Happily losing 9-10 a month. Got sick last Monday. Been coughing and fever. Have been on a z pack, codeine, sudefed and ibuprofen. I have been cutting the pills to get them down. I feel as though my band has tightened itself. I can barely drink water and I feel all these pills are getting stuck. I feel pain in my left upper mid back area. Very tight today, but yesterday i was able to eat 3 large tempura shrimp just fine. No pain. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I go to the er and get some fluid out? I don't want to mess up my green zone if this will pass.
  10. It was the timing of the mucus in my stoma and uncrushed antibiotics getting lodged. Pretty sure. Still un filled. Gained back 10 pounds the last 18 days. Joy!
  11. I went back in to get another barium X-ray to see if my band has returned to the 1 o'clock position. It has! Very happy. But they won't fill me back up for 2 more weeks. In these last 2 weeks being un filled, I gained 8 pounds. So much for my green zone happiness.
  12. @SandyM. I have friends that can't stop talking about the 5:2!!!! How is it working for you? Sounds a lot like Isagenix??
  13. I go back Monday to see if my band went back to 1 o clock position. Praying that the mushies helped. I have had no sliming and no vomiting. It's been nice. But I have sill have this respiratory infection. I have been reading in this forum and have read that being too tight can cause reflux induced pneumonia. Does anyone now about this?
  14. Well hello, Texas ladies! I was over filled 3 months ago. I didn't say anything bc I was finally losing. 10. Pounds a month. Steady. BUT I paid the price. Vomiting and sliming and choking on my own spit through the night. They ended up un filing me 2 weeks ago and I have been on mostly mush, except for the delish prime rib I ate yesterday. Since the un fill I haven't vomited once nor have. I had any sliming. Scared to get on the scale. Guess I will see it on Monday. The x ray showed an enlarged stoma and the band was starting to slip to 2-3 o clock position. I am praying. That. Come Monday it's back in its original 1 o clock position. I have a very hectic life, and I do not make good food choices. I hate chicken breast. And I love ranch dressing. And i am from NOLA with 2 years in culinary school. I am a foodie! This is very hard for me. It was easier when I was vomiting and losing. But since that is not the way this is supposed to work, I. Have to start over as well. If I. Can get. In the green zone, lose steadily, and not vomit, I would be happy. But it seems that the losing is paired with the vomiting. What are your thoughts on this? I know there is a happy place.

    Has Anyone Stretched Their Pouch?

I am un filled as well at this moment. I became .sick with a respiratory infection and mucus clogged my hole. Noting was going down. Not even water or the barium when the did the x ray. They un filled my band since my stoma was enlarged and starting dilation. Been on mashies for two weeks. Going in on Monday to re check. My symptoms were obvious. Major constant sliming. Even with water. Vomiting every thing. When I would lay down, anything I had drank, even after waiting an hour, would seep up from my esophagus and I would end up choking in my sleep. It was horrible. Listen to your body. Always.

1st Week Post Op Diet Dilemma

1st Week Post Op Diet Dilemma

I made several home made soups post op, and used my magic bullet to purée. It worked out fine. I even took meaty tomato sauce and puréed it. It was delish. I was so sick of sweet protein shakes! You can also drink Kefer probiotic yogurt drinks. Those are very filling. Making home made soup is the way to go. It gives you something to do as well as some good standing and moving time.
  20. They took on my friend as a patient. She had her band 7 years ago. Not through true results.
  21. Go to the True Results center. They will see any lap band patient.
  22. I went to the doctor yesterday. They did the barium X-ray while I drank. Literally, the barium stopped at the band and would not go any further. The barium ended up coming up 10 minutes later. I knew something was wrong! Apparently when you are sick, and have a lot of phlegm, that hole can get plugged! Mine was plugged with mucus. They took 5 cc out of my band. My stoma was stretched and I was entering the beginning stage of a dilated band. So I am back out of my nice green zone that I had before I got sick. I am back in bandster hell on full liquids for 2 weeks and no restriction. But I am glad I went in. I was very dehydrated and getting very little food. Here's to starting over! Cheers!
  23. It's really strange bc shrimp and crab go down but when I drink water it feels like its right up on my throat and I am about to choke. It even comes up. I know I am dehydrated. I have been able to only drink 16oz of water a day for the last 3 days. I have to fall asleep propped up so liquid doesn't come up in my throat and choke me.
  24. My surgeon doesn't have an after hour number. I have a emergency center that does treat lap band patients. I didn't have a problem until I had to take all these pills! I just ate another shrimp. Went down fine. I think I will be ok until my appointment on Tuesday. It's just pretty scary when you can only drink one cup of Water in 5 hours. This week was the first week I had to take any pills in 6 months. All my Vitamins are gummies or liquid. I only took the one Azithromiacin this morning and cut into 4 little pieces. No Sudefed or Ibuprofin today. I think I will live. I just hope the 2 Ibuprofen didn't hurt me. Thanks y'all!
