Any ICU Nurses out there?

Recommended Posts

I am an ICU nurse and really do not want to take anymore time off than I absolutely have to. I have very supportive co-workers that will help with turns etc. and will honestly spend 40% bedside probably, and the rest as house supervisor, and charge. What is the absolute shortest recovery time I should expect for VSG surgery?

I am an ER nurse and was told 4 weeks off, honestly I could have went back sooner - the thought was, I work in kind of a violent place at times, ICU should be better

I'm not a nurse yet but I am a float patient care tech and I know we do most of the lifting so when I come back I think the lightest duty I can come back to if I were to come less than 4 weeks would be the ER. Atleast doing 1:1 there start off first with 4 hrs then work my way up from there

Everyone is different but I felt great after 4 days. You just can't lift over 10 lbs for several weeks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
