Band to Sleeve 4/24/14

Recommended Posts

I will be having my Lap Band removed and converting to the Gastric Sleeve. I am waiting patiently for this! I am all set; Vitamins, Protein.

I am not sure what to expect at first, since it is different for everyone.

A friend of mine just went through this and is doing very well.

Well wish me luck and I'll keep this updated!

Ok Now that I have a little more free time I can write more.

I had my Band Surgery Oct 26, 2006

By May 2008 I lost 126lbs ( then weighed 219lbs )

Then My band was tightened to much and we were forced to take out most of the Fluid in it.

That was all she wrote, over the years since I have gained a great portion of the wight back.

I also have had issues with Swelling and slight band slippage also.

I will be happy to have the band removed and move on with my life when I am sleeved.

I will be doing this of course with a new doctor in a new office!

I have looked over some posts on this site, a lot of supportive msg's here.

Well I am happy to have found this site and hope if I have any questions or issues the supportive Sleever's on here will be here to help :)

Sounds like my story. I am 2 weeks post up from converting from lap band to gastric sleeve. I feel great and returned to work after 1 week with no pain meds after leaving the hospital. The only complication I am having is GERD which I did not have before. My surgeon told me that my stomach was inflammed from the lapband so it my take longer for swelling to go down if not he will have to do a scope and stretch it some. So for now I'm just following his instructions in hopes that things will get better in time. If not we will take the next step. Per his intructions I will continue on liquids and take my time with the soft food and drink things with sodium in it. He said some patients have difficult time with plain Water.

I am having a hard time with plain Water.

It seems i can drink crystal light right now.

I believe I am having some GERD issues also.

I have medication for it and he gave me medication for gallbladder too.

I got in my Vitamins, but I'm not quite getting in the fluids.

I have heard that from a lot of people right after they were done all you can do is try and get your fluids in

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
