Today is my third day post-op. On the day of surgery I was in surgery by 8am and I don't remember much until about 1pm when I was already in my room. Anesthesia really knocks me out as well as the morphine. I was so out of it that during my first two walks the nurse kept telling me to open my eyes and to wake up. After that I stopped pressing the morphine button because it made it so hard for me to wake up and walk. After walking I would get pain in my shoulder so I would get the hot compress and it helped so much. The only part that really hurt was getting in and out of the bed it made the whole left side of my belly hurt like hell. Throughout the night I was walking every 2 hours on the dot. The nurses were not playing when they said every two hours. The next morning I was told I had an appointment for an upper GI (swallowing test). I was dreading drinking the liquid but I didn't dwell on it because I knew it was my ticket out of there. Finally around 10:30 was my turn and the liquid was horrible but you only have to drink about a medicine cup full of it in three shots while they take pictures of the process and check for leaks. Once I was done the doctor came to see me. He was a bit concerned because I looked really pale. I told him that I usually get like that after anesthesia. He sent for some blood tests and some lunch and if both were fine I could go home. Blood work was fine and I was able to keep down the lunch so I was sent home around 3pm. The pain so far has been manageable and I only really hurt on my left side of my belly. Once I feel better I will weigh myself and post the statistics so far. Good luck to all April sleevers. We can do this!!!

Hello everyone I am now 10 days post-op and things do get better and better everyday. A nurse from the hospital has been calling me to check on me on during the last call on Tuesday (8days post-op) I told her that I felt ready to try puréed foods and she said that if I felt ready to go ahead and try it ( my dr. Is on vacation that's why I asked her). Since then I have been eating puréed foods and I feel much better. My body needed some real food in its system. These are my stats so far :

Height 5' 7"

Starting weight 221.5

Surgery date (after 2 weeks pre-op diet) 208

Current weight (10 days post op) 198.5

Good luck to everyone and I forgot to mention I'm still unable to drink my Protein shakes they just taste so nasty to me and I am still struggling to get enough liquid in. I just have to be more diligent about the Water.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
