Please what is a slider.

Sliders are foods that go right through the band and give no satiety signals. Like ice cream, chocolate, chips, casseroles, etc.

For me, a bag of cheese Puffs or Cheese Curls (whatever you call them, they practically melt on the tongue). Every now and then, I have a few.

Sliders are different to a lot of people. For instance sugar cereals for me are sliders but healthier ones like raisin bran and shredded wheat are not.

Even "sliders" fill me in lucky my band def has away if telling me umm sorry your done. Do I eat everything in moderation. Yes I have ice cream . chips do not like me don't know if it's the grease but it never ends well. I try and make good clean choices so when I do eat not so clean my body tells me and I am thankful I can't go back to my old ways .

Carbs in general are slider foods... I have learned how to eat around the band so with enough chewing anything can be a slider food... just not as much. Ugh! this makes the journey much harder than expected

Here's what doesn't give me a soft stop, so I guess these are my sliders:

salad

Soup

popcorn

chips

Pasta

Some breads

Here's what gets me stuck:

Pork chops

Here's what gives me a soft stop and satisfies me if I slow down and chew well:

cheese

Red meat like beef or hamburger

chicken

Chili

Some breads

eggs

Here's what satisfies me for hours but does not give me a soft stop:

Protein shakes

.

ice cream cannot be in my home for me. It calls to me at night It soothes me. So frozen yogurt occasionally. Regular Greek Yogurt.

Sigh. Can't have it. I know myself not to buy ice cream. Has any one else noticed you shop so much less?

Much less shopping. I bought Cookies for granddaughter yesterday and ate 4 of them, 220 calories each. Hubby and I have decided, no more cookies in the house.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
