to my hispanic sleevers!

Recommended Posts

I'm not Hispanic, but a Puerto Rican friend made me some red Beans (seasoned with adobo, sazon, etc.) and I mixed in some cooked ground turkey, absolute heaven! My sleeve loved it! I didn't even have to mash it up, I just chewed real well. I can eat 4-5 ounces and it's full of Protein. She showed me how to make it, so it will definitely be something I'll eat a lot of.

I'm Hispanic, Mexican and yes I still cook with the same sazon as before no problems here. I've had luck with my sleeve nothing bothers it. Except chicken the first 6 weeks was to heavy now I could eat it just fine.

I'm Puerto Rican and I still use adobo to season my food. I even make quinoa almost how I made arroz amarillo. I've haven't had frituras yet because I know I can't have just one! Lol

My wife is Cuban/ West Indian and quite frequently uses adobo and sazon to season food. I also use it when cooking Caribbean food.

Yes I still use all of the same seasoning in my cooking, but I haven't had any tostones or anything like that yet and probably won't for a long while. So delicious but so bad for us and part of the reason I needed this surgery in the first place, lol! I did make some mangu the other day (boiled, mashed, seasoned plantains) and it went down fine, but I could only have a tiny bit.

Good luck!

I tolerate pernil and pork chops just fine, just in very small portions.

As a Puerto Rican rice is made in my home almost everyday, so I thought for sure this lifestyle change was going to be so hard, but so far so good. I don't miss it and watching the scale go down is much more satisfying!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
