I wan to eat. Diet Questions

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on March 12th. Here we are the night of March 19th. Im dying for something to eat. I did a 30 day diet before surgery which I did great on and worked well for me. I lost a little over 20 pounds. Then the day before surgery was clear liquid all day, and since surgery Clear Liquids. I drink Water, a bit of juice, and if I can stand the taste, a couple sips of broth. For some reason I thought that at my first follow up visit, I went from just clear liquids to full liquids. But apparently I must have made that up in my head because it's not in my book they gave me. It only says that Protein Shakes can be added. I hate shakes. Every single one makes me vomit. I found one that I can drink a few sips of here and there and be ok. But that is it. I just want to eat something. Honestly, I don't care if I even swallow the food. I want to chew something. I want to taste something. I just want to feel like im eating something even if i'm not. Gum isn't an option for me because I swallow it very easily and that would be really bad. 2 weeks on just water, juice, and sips of broth here and there? Is everyone's post-op diet like this? When I go to my dr tomorrow im considering asking him if I can add any other kind of liquids to my diet like Tomato Soup or something so I can feel like im not going absolutely crazy.

When I was on week one I had SF Jello and SF Popsicles. At the hospital the gave me Ms. Dash for my broth and it made it so much better. At my one week follow up, I was allowed SF pudding made with Lactose Free 1% milk, Tomato Soup and Low sugar oatmeal. Call your Dr and ask bc everyone is different but I totally understand...by day 6 of Clear Liquids I was going nuts!!! Oh...I had my surgery March 11th. Hope it turns out well!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
