I am 4 months post op sleeve, and still wonder if I will lose any more weight since I have been stuck at 170 for 5 weeks. I can live with this so I am not complaining. What I love is after a 3 day family reunion with 200 people, I lost 5 lbs! I found myself looking at all those plates loaded with good old Southern cooking, fried fish, barbecue, homemade cakes, potato salad, and was not the least bit feeling deprived. Honestly it feels awesome not to have the urge to stuff myself like I have done so many years. I am so glad I had the sleeve, and my health has improved drastically. Best part is the asthma seems "gone" and I am not gasping for breath, neuropathy no longer makes me cry with the pain, and off Metformin! Love this life!

Makes you kinda think the creator made a mistake when it left it up to humans to learn everything on their own. Probably would have been a good idea to throw in a few basic instincts in the mix.......take away some of our really dumb choices.

I feel the same way. My daughter had a sleep over this weekend and I didn't feel the urge at all or even feel bad about not being able to eat her cupcakes.

I know how you feel, Linda, about how your health has improved. I am a type 2 diabetic, 3 months out from surgery, and I am off my insulin and down from 2 Glucovance pills and 2 Metformin pills to only one Metformin a day. Also, no more sleep apnea or GERD since I also had the hernia repair. I am so happy I had the sleeve...it was the best Christmas present I gave myself. Good luck to you.

Betty

Betty, so proud of you doing this for yourself! You are more than 10 years younger than me so you will have added zest to your life. Bet you can't wait to for summer, like me. I want to be outdoors in the sun in a swimsuit! Keep up the good work because those meds will change as you lose!!! High five!!!

Thank you, Linda for the encouraging words. I'm in SW Florida and the weather is already nice, in the 80's, but I am looking forward to putting on a bathing suit again. Even with a pool, I hated the thought of putting on a bathing suit at my weight. By the way, I don't know why you think I'm younger than you, but I am actually in my early 70's so I did do this for my health and my kids and grandkids. Keep up the good work, we'll both look amazing by the summer.

Woo hoo Betty thought it said you were 56 lol. I will be 68 this year and the pool is calling me too. My retirement gift to self. Yes we will, lots to look forward to youngster! I am headed soon to Pensacola to kayak with my wonderful daughter. My only grandchild is 26 and I am praying he gets married so I can have a great granddaughter soon! Please stay in touch!! Linda

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
