Hey Debras65! My surgery is on March 26 too!!! I am so excited!!! I didn't have to go on any special diet only had to lose a percentage of weight witch I already have so I am just continuing with that! I am just super motivated to get this weight off and keep it off once and for all!!! My issue has always been keeping it off and I feel like the surgery will help me in that ( I hope ) !!!

Ok, that's great! I am getting gastric bypass. One of my friends had the gastric sleeve 6 months ago.

Hi Everyone. I'm Lorraine from Bristol, Ct. Having the bypass but not sure when the date will be.

I'm starting to be confused as to the foods that I can eat.

Nutritionist said only unprocessed food. That's a problem right now as I need support to find a variety that won't bore me to death.

Anyone have suggestions.

I am a senior citizen and live alone so cooking isn't interesting me much anymore.

Since I'm on the road most of the time it seems difficult for me to figure out the take along foods in my car.

Hello Lorraine, the nutritionist supplied us with a liver shrink diet to follow which consist of a Protein Shake or Protein Bar for Breakfast, mid morning snack of fruit and add a 4 oz yogurt if ur diabetic, lunch Protein shake or protein bar, mid after snack of fruit and add 4 oz yogurt if ur diabetic, dinner your choice of chicken, fish, or turkey 3 oz, steamed veggies or salad with fat free dressing (2 tbsp), 6 unsalted crackers or 2 slices low cal bread or 1 small baked potato, 1/2 c fruit or 1 small fruit, evening snack 1/2 c fruit or 1 small fruit. U can snack on unlimited veggies that are non starchy like lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, green Beans, asparagus, spinach, greens, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, carrots, cabbage, radishes, onions, eggplant, zucchini, summer squash, and peppers. Drink plenty of fluids cal free, like crystal light, sugar free kool aid, Water, Decaf tea and Powerade zero. I am required to do this for two weeks and all liquid before my surgery. shakes or Protein Bars have to be under 220 calories and 10grams or less fat per serving. I hope this helps u. U can also purchase Protein Powder which can contain no more than 40 grams of protein. Hopes this helps u! Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
