I am glad that know that I am not the only one that feels that way. I want the band to work, but I don't want to be miserable and unable to eat. I just can't imagine that feeling. I don't want to experience it at all.

Neither do I. Thanks punkster. How are you feeling?

still not great but better. i am trying to drink some hot cocoa in the mornings to help loosen and soothe my band. still on sort of a soft diet. misery hasnt left yet.

i am sad to find out that icee's are carbonated. that took the wind out of my sails. i only discovered this from unwrapped on food network. blast it all!

i am still not sure that i dont need another unfill but i am trying to wait for 2 weeks seeing as my situation isnt as dire as it once was. i would have been in the hospital over the weekend if i hadnt gotten Fluid taken out on thursday.

To exacerbate my suffering, i am craving a big crusty sandwich :cursing: which i know i could never eat even a bite of. drats.

has anyone sought the help of a therapist in all of this? i read something about a therapist at gbi the other day and just wondered (talking about hypnosis, alleviating head hunger, etc... )

i have considered seeking some sort of therapy only because i want to be very successful and do every thing in my power to make that happen. which is why i go to support groups and post my daily food habits on here. frankly i started thinking about this when i had to go see a psychologist as part of my insurance coverage for this surgery.

please, do not feel obligated to answer. just curious.

I have seen a therapist since surgery. I need to make another appointment. I found one that specializes in eating disorders. Even the few sessions that I went to helped.

I think we can go see the therapist at Memorial for free for a few visits after surgery. He's the one that did my psych eval. He's really good. I really should see one too. I think I am having an identity crisis or something. I have even had a hard time getting rid of my clothes that are too big now. It makes me sad for some crazy reason. Everyone tells me how great I look, but in my head I am still the same. Does that make sense? slim, are you seeing a therapist at Memorial or one in private practice? If you don't want to tell, I understand.

I don't mind at all. She is in private practice. Her name is Jan Sherbak. I googled doctors in this area that deals with eating disorders.

Jennifer(the nurse) called me and we talked a while about my frustration. I wanted to say that I really appreciated her call and feel like she understands my situation. I told her that I would not have been so concerned if I was just at a stand still, but gaining weight is what was driving me nuts.

I told her that I had redoubled my efforts and have been doing better yesterday and today and my hope is that going on Vacation this coming week will help - my hope is to stay busy and keep my mind of the hunger. She bumped my appt up to Jun the 11th which is the week I get back from vacation. I am pretty happy with that.

Well, my fill is tomorrow. I am having mixed feelings about the appointment. A couple of weeks back, I was seriously wigging out - I gained almost 10lbs back very quickly. Since that time I have forced myself to three meals a day and eating less at each meal. I have to say it is working - I lost all that I gained plus 8 more lbs. I honestly have not been too hungry, but I have made sure I was busy all the time. I noticed this week after getting back to work, I started getting empty in between meals - I am not sure if it is head hunger, real hunger, or what. Right now, I can eat anything and I don't really get full per se, I just kind of stop eating. I could probably keep this up, but my fear is that I will suddenly go off the deep end again. I really do not want to go through what punkster is going through, but I have only had one fill so I feel like I need more.

Does your insurance cover this?

cmexlr8, I would go ahead with the fill. This is only your 2nd so you shouldn't have any problems being too tight.

Does your insurance cover this?

My insurance does cover it. They have allowed a certain number of visits for a year.

how did it help?

She offers techniques for dealing with my relationship with food. She also has been helping me get to the bottom of why I turned to food in the first place. I am a stress/emotional eater, so I knew that I was never going to be successful with the band, or anything else diet related,if I didn't get help. I am currently a work in progress. I hadn't been in a while and could really tell that I am not doing the things that she and I talked about. I did really good the first few months, but I can tell that I am not doing that right now. I called to make myself an appointment.

cmexlr8, I would get that fill too. I didn't have enough restriction to not be hungry between meals until maybe after my 3rd. I am scheduled for my 7th fill next week.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
